COE'S JACKSON AND WARTBURG'S KING NAMED TO DON HANSEN'S FOOTBALL GAZETTE ALL-AMERICA TEAM

December 19, 2002

MOUNT VERNON, IOWA . . . The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced today that Coe College’s Fredrick Jackson (Fort Worth, Texas/Lamar HS) and Wartburg College’s Vince King (Burlington, Iowa/Burlington HS) were named to Don Hansen’s Football Gazette All-America Team. Jackson was named to the First Team as a kick returner and was named Special Teams Player of the Year. He also earned Second Team honors as a running back. King was a Third Team defensive lineman.

Jackson was previously named an American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-American and a Hewlett Packard First Team All-American. King earned Hewlett Packard Honorable Mention.

Jackson and King were among 17 Iowa Conference players named to Don Hansen’s Football Gazette All-West Region Team, including eight that were First or Second Team honorees and placed on the All-America ballot.
