LORAS’ SAMPSON COMPETES
AT NCAA SWIMMING & DIVING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

ST. PETER'S, MO. . . . Loras College junior Scott Sampson (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf HS) competed in three events at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving National Championship hosted by Principia College at the Rec Plex in St. Peter’s, Mo.

On Thursday, he placed 23rd in the 500-yard freestyle preliminaries in a time of 4:40.96. The following day, Sampson placed 26th in the preliminaries of the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:43.60. He concluded his competition on Saturday with a time of 16:09.14 in the 1,650-yard freestyle to finish in 16th place and earn All-America honors.

Sampson’s performances scored Loras one point, which placed the Duhawks 53rd in the team standings.
