CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA . . . The 2004
Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) baseball Tournament
will be held May 13-May 15, at Veterans
Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This marks the first
of a three-year partnership between the IIAC and Cedar Rapids Kernels,
the Midwest League affiliate of the Anaheim Angels.
Three games will be played on Thursday, May 13
with scheduled start times of 1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Friday will feature four games at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m.
and 7:00 p.m. Saturday’s schedule will depend on the number of teams
remaining in the double-elimination Tournament. There will be games
at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. A 7:00 p.m. game will be
played if necessary. The complete Tournament schedule with game

All games in the Tournament are scheduled for nine
innings. However, inclement weather could force games to seven inning
contests and/or force play on Sunday, May 16. The winner of the
Tournament will receive the IIAC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The top-six teams in the Conference standings after
a round-robin schedule qualify for the Tournament. Conference play
begins on Saturday, April 3 and concludes on Saturday, May 8.
Single day tickets for the Conference Tournament
are $6 for adults and $3 for students with a college ID and younger.
Tickets for all three days can be purchased at one time for $16
(adults) and $8 (students). Tickets can be purchased in advance
at Veterans Stadium or by contacting the Kernels office at (319)
