CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA . . . Coe College
won its fourth straight Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
(IIAC) men’s tennis Championship with a 5-0 victory over Central
College in the Championship Match of the Dual Team Tournament portion
of the three-day Conference Championship held in Cedar Rapids.
Coe, the Tournament’s top seed, improved to 26-1
on the season after winning all three of its matches on Thursday.
In addition to its victory over #2 Central, the Kohawks defeated
#8 Buena Vista (5-0) in the first round and #4 Simpson (5-0) in
the semifinals. The four straight Conference titles are the most
since Luther won eight straight from 1988-1995.
The Tournament went according to seed as #3 Luther
defeated #4 Simpson in the third-place match (4-0), #5 Wartburg
defeated #6 Cornell in the fifth-place match (4-1) and #7 Loras
defeated #8 Buena Vista in the seventh-place match (4-1).

The IIAC men’s tennis Championship continues Friday
and Saturday (April 23-24) with the Individual Flighted Tournament
beginning with singles matches at 8:00 a.m. at Veterans Park (Flights
B and C) and 8:15 at Clark Racquet Center (Flight A). Brackets for
