CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA . . . Seven
Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) student-athletes
were named to CoSIDA Academic All-America® Teams announced over
the last 10 days.
Academic All-America® At-Large
Team: Coe College senior tennis player Nick
Barnes (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington HS) and Luther College
junior wrestler Garrett South (Cumberland, Iowa/C&M
HS) were selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® At-Large
First Team. Barnes is an English and Spanish major, South is a Math
and Management major.
Academic All-America® Track/Cross
Country Teams: Central College senior Raegan
Schultz (Barnum, Iowa/Manson NW Webster HS), Cornell College
junior Anna Doherty (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater
Area HS) and Wartburg College senior Kelly Foley (Tipton,
Iowa/Tipton HS) were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America®
Women’s Track/Cross Country Team. Schultz, a Business Management
major, was named to the First Team. Foley, a Psychology major, was
selected to the Second Team. Doherty, an English and Spanish major,
was a member of the Third Team.
Wartburg College senior Brent Showalter
(Wellman, Iowa/Mid-Prairie HS) and Loras College senior
Marcus Murphy (Ankeny, Iowa/Ankeny HS) were named
to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Men’s Track/Cross Country
Team. Showalter, a Business Administration major, was a First Team
selection. Murphy, an Accounting and Economics major, was named
to the Third Team.
