BUENA VISTA NAMES MIKE INMAN TENNIS COACH

STORM LAKE, IOWA . . . Michael Inman has been named the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Buena Vista University. He will begin his coaching duties later this month.

Inman has served as a tennis instructor for all age groups and is bringing a wealth of experience to the Buena Vista program. He began his professional career as the assistant professional at Kansas City Racquet club in 1988. Three years later, Inman accepted a coaching position at Duquesne University. He later went on to coach at the Community College of Allegheny County in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 1991-1993. Inman has since served as an instructor at the Lake Quivira Country Club in Lake Quivira, Kansas, the Wichita Racquet Club in Wichita, Kansas, and the Four Seasons Health Club in Sioux City, Iowa.

A 1984 graduate of the University of Iowa, Inman earned All-Big Ten honors while competing for the Hawkeyes. He later went on to become a Missouri Valley Singles Semi-Finalist and Doubles Finalist in 1990. That same year, Inman was crowned a National Champion in Mixed Doubles at the Phillips 66 Tournament.

In 1991, Inman earned a master’s degree in Religious Studies at Central Seminary in Kansas City, Kansas. He has since held adjunct teaching positions at Duquesne University, Neosho County Community College, and Western Iowa Tech Community College. Inman was awarded a Ph. D. in Systematic Theology in 1997 from Duquesne. For the past four years, he has served as a hospice chaplain and Fia project director.

"Inman is an excellent addition to our coaching staff," stated athletic director Jan Travis. "We look forward to him working with our student-athletes and we are excited about his leadership and the solid tennis background he brings to Buena Vista."
