COE'S BOB TIMMONS WINS 600th CAREER GAME

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA . . . Coe College Head Softball Coach Bob Timmons picked up his 600th career victory on Sunday after his Kohawks defeated Illinois Wesleyan, 4-2, at a tournament in Bloomington, Ill. Timmons is now the third active Division III head coach with 600 wins.

The Kohawks are currently 26-4 this season and stand atop the Iowa Conference standings with a 7-1 record. They are ranked 14th in the latest poll released by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Timmons is in his eighth season with the Kohawks where he has compiled a record of 226-84. He spent 12 seasons as the head softball coach at Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids prior to his arrival at Coe.

The Mustangs appeared in three NAIA national tournaments in a span of four years from 1987-1990. Timmons has led the Kohawks to two NCAA regional tournaments in 2000 and 2002.
