DUBUQUE, IOWA . . . Pete
Weber's run for a national title came up three strokes
shy Thursday as the senior shot a 1-over-par 73 to finish fourth
at the NCAA III Men's Golf National Championships in Howey-In-The-Hills,
Fla. He finished the four-day affair at 5-over-par after leading
the tournament at the completion of a first round where he carded
a 4-under-par 68.
He did, however, take home the hardware at the
awards presentation following the championships. Weber was voted
the recipient of the Jack Nicklaus Award as the top golfer in the
NCAA Division III. He also earned All-America honors as both a player
and as a scholar.
Weber is Loras' first men's golfer to earn All-America
status.
