MOUNT VERNON, IOWA . . . Lori Moss has resigned her position as head softball and assistant volleyball coach, effective at the end of May. During her nine-year stay at Cornell, Moss was also an assistant women’s basketball coach.

Moss compiled an overall softball record of 90-214 (.296) after inheriting a program that went 3-23 in 1996. The Rams had back-to-back seasons of 14-18 in 2002 and 2003.

“The last nine years have been a wonderful experience,” Moss said. “Now I’m looking forward to spending more time with my family.”

Moss and her husband, Shawn, have two children — Samantha, 4, and Ben, 2.

Victories in the Iowa Conference were hard to come by for Cornell, which is 29-116 in league play since 1998. The Rams were 8-9 in 2003.

“We greatly appreciate Lori’s years of service to Cornell athletics in the various positions she has held,” Cornell athletics director Tina Hill said. “She will be missed and we wish her well in the future.”
