THREE NAMED TO ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA® SOCCER TEAMS

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA . . . Three Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) soccer players, two men and one woman, were named to the Academic All-America® College Division Soccer Teams selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Luther College forward Eric Henderson (Clive, Iowa/Valley) and defenseman Jeremiah Reinkoester (Independence, Iowa/Independence) were named to the Academic All-America® Men’s Soccer First Team. Loras College forward Michelle Wieser (Dubuque, Iowa/Senior) was named to the Academic All-America® Women’s Soccer Third Team.

Henderson is a senior physics major with a 3.96 grade point average. Reinkoester is a senior math major with a 3.89 GPA. Wieser is a senior sports management major with a 3.739 GPA. The trio was among 10 IIAC soccer players named to the Academic All-District VII Soccer Teams on November 4.

To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-America® Team, a student-athlete must have been selected to the Academic All-District First Team, reached sophomore academic and athletic standing, be a starter or key reserve and possess at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
