CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA . . . Three
Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) football players
were named to the D3football.com All-American Team announced on
Saturday.
Simpson College junior defensive lineman Jason
Ripke (Newell, Iowa/Newell-Fonda) was a First Team All-American
selection for the third time this year, addition D3football.com
honors to American Football Coaches Association and Don Hansen’s
Football Gazette Teams announced last week.
Buena Vista University senior linebacker Michael
Irvin (Bedford, Iowa/Bedford) was named to D3football.com’s
All-American Second Team and Central College senior linebacker Mark
Sanger (Britt, Iowa/West Hancock) was named to the Third
Team. Sanger also received Third Team All-American honors from Don
Hansen’s Football Gazette.
In addition to the three All-Americans, Buena Vista
sophomore punter Chris Kemmerer (Clear Lake, Iowa/Clear
Lake) received Honorable Mention.
