DUBUQUE, IOWA . . . Loras College junior Geoff Kaiser was named the Division III Central Region Indoor Field Athlete of the Year by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Thursday night prior to the start of the national championship meet in St. Peter, Minn.

Kaiser, a native of Horicon, Wis. and graduate of Horicon High School, is one of four student athletes representing the Loras Men’s Track and Field team at the National Indoor Meet this weekend.

Kaiser will compete in the long jump and triple jump after provisionally qualifying in each event. He was also a member of the 4x400 meter relay that provisionally qualified for the meet but was not selected. Kaiser earned All-America honors last year at the indoor meet after finishing fourth in the long jump and running as a member of the eight place 4x400 relay. His long jump this year of 23’ 5 ½” is currently the eighth best jump in the nation.

Kaiser has five All-America honors and five school records already to his credit in his stint at Loras.
