ASBURY, IOWA . . . Wartburg College regained the lead in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) men’s golf Championship after shooting a 294 in the third round at the Meadows Golf Club in Asbury, Iowa. The Knights enter Saturday’s final round with a one stroke lead over Central College and a four stroke lead over Luther College.

Wartburg has a 54-hole total of 883 (295-294-294) and led after 18-holes as well. Central shot a 290 to move back into second place where it was after 18-holes before slipping to third after 36-holes. Second round leader Luther shot a 300 on Friday and fell to 887 for the Championship.

Wartburg’s Ryan Kinseth shot his second 71 of the Tournament and moved into first place on the individual leaderboard at 216 (71-74-71). Central’s Derek Deminsky shot a 70, the second lowest round of the day and moved from sixth-place to second two strokes behind Kinseth (72-76-70—218). Central’s Cole Reiman shot the day’s low round of 69 and jumped from 17th-place to sixth (tied).

Luther’s Ed Witkowski (73 on the day, 219 for the Championship), second round leader Ben Hanson (76, 220) and Wartburg’s Andrew Miller (74, 220) round-out the top-five.

Wartburg and Central enter the final round with four players in the top-10, Luther has five players in the top-11 and fourth-place Buena Vista has five players in the top-25.

The IIAC Championship concludes tomorrow with tee times beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Meadows. Tee times, based on individual scores through 54-holes are below.
