13 NAMED TO ABCA ALL-CENTRAL REGION TEAM

CEDAR RAPIDS , IOWA . . . Thirteen Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) baseball players were named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Central Region Team announced earlier this week. Four IIAC student-athletes were named to the First Team, five to the Second Team and four to the Third Team.

Earning First Team All-Central Region honors were: Central College senior catcher Adam Duerfeldt (Urbandale, Iowa/Urbandale), Coe College senior first baseman Chad Kramer (Iowa City, Iowa/West), Luther College junior utility player Kyle Schroeder (Sparta, Wis./Bangor) and Wartburg College senior short stop Casey Pauli (Scottsdale, Ariz./Saguaro).

Second Team honorees were: Central sophomore pitcher Brett Mahan (West Des Moines, Iowa/Valley) and sophomore first baseman Jeremy Kippley (Denison, Iowa/Denison), Coe senior outfielder Brock Auten (Phoenix, Ariz./Saguaro), Simpson College senior catcher Jon Clanton (Council Bluffs, Iowa/Lewis Central) and Wartburg senior pitcher Ryan Moorman (Boone, Iowa/Boone).

Third Team honorees were: Coe sophomore outfielder Cody Smith (Iowa City, Iowa/City High), University of Dubuque senior outfielder Jeremy Rannals (Dubuque, Iowa/Senior), Simpson senior outfielder Ross Anderson (Robins, Iowa/Cedar Rapids Kennedy) and Wartburg junior second baseman Ryan Grant (Center Point, Iowa/Cedar Rapids Kennedy).

Kramer and Moorman were ABCA All-Central Region Second Team selections in 2005. Duerfeldt and Pauli were Third Team selections a year ago.
