STORM LAKE, IOWA . . . Buena Vista University athletics director Jan Travis has announced the resignation of head men's and women's tennis coach Luther Olson. Olson was also the University's director of intramurals.

"It is disappointing to lose someone of Olson's caliber," stated Travis. "We were fortunate to have him as a part of our program, and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors."

Olson spent one academic year at the head of the Buena Vista men's and women's tennis programs. He guided the women's team to a 2-6 record in the fall of 2005. Olson’s men's squad posted a record of 0-10 in the spring of 2006.

Travis says that a search for Olson’s replacement will begin immediately. The school plans to have a new head coach in place in time for the start of the women's season in the fall.
