DUBUQUE,
IOWA . . . The
University of Dubuque is proud to announce the development of
the Spartan Sports Network, an online streaming broadcast network
of UD Spartan Athletics.
The
voice for the Spartan Sports Network (www.dbq.edu/udathletics/)
will be local broadcast legend, Jack Kilcoyne. Kilcoyne has
been a voice over the airwaves in the Dubuque area for over
25 years.
"We're
happy to have Jack join the Spartan Sports Network," commented
the University of Dubuque Director of Sports Information Paul
Misner. "To have a person with his many years of experience
and service to the local community is an honor for the fans
of the University of Dubuque."
UD
will utilize a state-of-the art streaming technology by Stretch
Internet, a California based company which provides audio streaming
and other internet services to over 60 colleges, professional
teams and radio stations while reaching an audience of more
than 25,000 listeners per month via QuickTime player. Stretch
Internet is devoted to customer service and providing a first-class,
high quality experience for its clients and their extended communities.
The
fans of Spartans Athletics can choose eScores to receive the
scores, news, schedule updates via cell phone text messaging
or email& or both! They can even specify which sports they're
interested in and change their settings at any time. The eScores
is a free service provided by Stretch Internet and UD is the
first school in the Iowa Conference and the only college in
the Dubuque area to utilize this new technology.
Fans
wishing to purchase archives of the various broadcasts can do
so at a nominal fee online at Stretch Internet.
