STORM
LAKE , IOWA . . . Dustin Bonnett, a junior forward
on the Buena Vista University men's soccer team, has broken
the school's all-time career scoring record. Bonnett is a 2003
graduate of T.F. Riggs High School in Pierre, South Dakota.
This season, Bonnett has broken the school records for career
goals and career points. On September 10, he broke the school's
record for points in a career when he dished out two assists
in a game against Bethel University. One day later, he broke
the school record for goals in a career when he scored on a
penalty kick against Grinnell College.
Bonnett
has registered 54 total points in his career at Buena Vista.
The old record of 49 points was held by Elvir Alicic. Bonnett
has scored a total of 23 collegiate goals, two more than the
previous record holder Bo Leonard. He needs six more assists
to break that school record as well.
Bonnett and the rest of his Buena Vista teammates begin Iowa
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday, September
24 by hosting Loras College. The Beavers, coached by Matt Klosterman,
are currently 2-3-1 on the young season.
