FALLS, IOWA . . . Wartburg
College jumped out to a seven stroke lead after the first round
of the 2005 Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC)
women’s golf Championship at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course
behind a 77 from Erin Dohlman and 82s from
Andrea Schiltz and Bre Pleggenkuhle.
Dohlman is the individual leader after 18-holes with a one stroke
lead over Buena Vista’s Jennifer Stork and
a three stroke lead over Luther’s Lindsay Thies.
Schiltz, Pleggenkuhle, Coe’s Angela Meisterling
and Buena Vista’s Cortney Stork are
tied for fourth.
Buena
Vista shot an opening round 332 and is seven strokes off Wartburg’s
pace. Central, Loras, Simpson and Luther are third-through-sixth
and separated by just seven strokes. Central is in at 340, Loras
shot a 342, Simpson shot a 344 and Luther shot a 347.
The
IIAC Championship continues Saturday at Pheasant Ridge Golf
Course in Cedar Falls. Tee times begin at 9:00 a.m. with players
from Wartburg, Buena Vista and Central. Loras, Simpson and Luther
players will be paired together as will Coe, Cornell and Dubuque
players.
