MOUNT VERNON , IOWA . . . Kevin Kahler, a 1991 Cornell College graduate who spent three seasons as the head softball coach at Remsen-St. Mary’s High School, has been named interim head softball coach at Cornell. Kahler replaces Lori Moss, who compiled a record of 90-214 in nine seasons before resigning last spring.

“It’s great to be back at Cornell,” Kahler said. “I’m really excited about working with the team in the upcoming season. Our main focus will be to play smart softball.”

Kahler, who is also an assistant women’s basketball coach, graduated from Iowa City Regina High School in 1987 and earned a bachelor’s degree in history and secondary education from Cornell. A resident of Iowa City, Kahler is pursuing a master’s degree in sports administration from the University of Iowa.
