CEDAR
RAPIDS, IOWA . . . Twelve Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference (IIAC) football players were named to the D3football.com
All-West Region Team announced by the on-line publication on
Friday.
Central
College senior offensive tackle Ryan Johnson (Britt,
Iowa/West Hancock), Loras College senior defensive tackle Ross
Dillavou (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Xavier) and Simpson College
senior defensive end Jason Ripke (Newell, Iowa/Newell-Fonda)
were named to the First Team.
Earning
Second Team All-Region honors on offense were Central sophomore
running back Vance Schuring (Pella, Iowa/Pella),
Coe College senior tackle Sean Kennedy (Waterloo,
Iowa/Columbus), Simpson senior wide receiver Dusty Kain
(Prairie City, Iowa/Prairie City-Monroe) and Wartburg
College senior tackle Jason Ingle (Ollie, Iowa/Pekin
(Packwood)).
Defensive
selections to the Second Team were Central junior corner back
Brett Doud (Oskaloosa, Iowa/Oskaloosa) and
Wartburg senior linebacker Alex Pollock (Aplington,
Iowa/Aplington-Parkersburg). Coe junior Michael Herzberger
(Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) was the Second Team
place kicker.
Coe
sophomore wide receiver Neil Suckow (Fredericksburg,
Iowa/Fredericksburg) and University of Dubuque senior tight
end Josh Staley (Bacon Raton, Fla./Olympic
Heights Community) were Third Team selections.
The Teams,
selected in balloting by West Region sports information directors
and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 147 nominations by
Division III member schools. It is the first time D3football.com
has chosen All-Region Teams. A total of 75 players were named
to the West Region Team.
