MOUNT
VERNON , IOWA . . . Curt Lewis has resigned as head
coach of the Cornell men’s soccer program.
The Rams were 19-49-5 in four seasons under Lewis, including
9-23-1 in the Iowa Conference. His final Cornell squad compiled
a record of 5-9-3, 3-5 in the IIAC this past fall.
“I
think I made Cornell more competitive during my four years and
we upgraded the caliber of our recruits,” Lewis said.
“I wish them the best of luck in the future.”
Lewis
and his wife are expecting their second son in February, and
he hopes to spend more time with his family. He is also the
head boys’ soccer coach at Cedar Rapids Prairie High School
and manages Soccer Connections in Cedar Rapids.
“Coach
Lewis has worked hard to develop our men’s soccer program
and we wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors,”
Cornell Athletics Director Tina Hill said.
