CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA . . . Four Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) football players were named to the D3football.com All-American Team announced by the on-line publication on Saturday in conjunction with the national championship game.

Central College senior offensive tackle Ryan Johnson (Britt, Iowa/West Hancock) and Loras College senior defensive tackle Ross Dillavou (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Xavier) were both named First Team All-Americans by d3football.com.

Central sophomore running back Vance Schuring (Pella, Iowa/Pella) and Simpson College senior defensive end Jason Ripke (Newell, Iowa/Newell-Fonda) were named to the Third Team. It is the fourth All-American honor for Ripke, who was a 2004 American Football Coaches Association All-American, a 2004 Don Hansen Football Gazette and d3football.com First Team All-American.

Since 2000, Iowa Conference student-athletes have been named to the d3football.com All-American Team 24 times. Johnson and Schuring are Central’s fifth and sixth d3football.com All-American. Ripke is the fourth Simpson d3football.com All-American and Dillavou is Loras’ second. Wartburg College has also had six d3football.com All-Americans, Buena Vista University has had four, Coe College and former Conference member Upper Iowa have each had one.
