IOWA
CITY, IOWA . . . . Central College, behind five golfers
in the top-10 including a 73 from Andy Petersen,
shot a 301 and holds a six stroke lead in the Iowa Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference (IIAC) men’s golf Championship after
18-holes at Finkbine Golf Course.
Petersen
holds a three stroke lead over teammate Isaac Rodenberg,
Loras’ Mark Dolphin and Simpson’s
Jordan Angell who are all tied for second with a 3-over-par
75. Central’s Brett Meyer, Luther’s
Paul Soener and Wartburg’s Andrew
Miller shot 4-over-par 76 and are tied for fifth.
Simpson
sits second after one round with a 307 followed by Luther (312)
and Buena Vista (314).
The
IIAC Championship continues on Saturday at Finkbine Golf Course
in Iowa City. Tee times begin at 9:00 a.m. with players from
Central, Simpson and Luther. Buena Vista, Loras and Wartburg
players will be paired together as will Coe, Dubuque and Cornell
players.
