STORM
LAKE , IOWA . . . Kevin
McCadams has been named the head men's and women's tennis coach
at Buena Vista University. He will begin his coaching duties
later this month.
McCadams
brings over 24 years of experience in the athletic club industry
to the Buena Vista program. He has served as a tennis instructor
for all age groups. McCadams is currently working as a private
tennis instructor in Sioux City. Prior to moving to Iowa nearly
a year ago, he served as the racquet sports coordinator at the
Five Seasons Sports Country Club in Dayton, Ohio for four years.
In
addition to his vast experience with private athletic clubs,
McCadams has had valuable experiences in higher education. He
has conducted tennis programs for students at Wright State University
in Dayton and has served as an assistant tennis coach at the
University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana. He played collegiately
at the University of Tennessee-Martin and Bethel College.
“We
are excited to have McCadams join the BVU coaching staff,”
said Buena Vista athletics director Jan Travis. “He brings
years of experience in tennis management as well as teaching
and playing skills to the program. His leadership, enthusiasm,
and knowledge of the sport will greatly enhance our tennis program.”
In
addition to his coaching duties, McCadams will serve as the
school's director of intramurals. Buena Vista's women's tennis
squad opens its season on September 2 by traveling to Dubuque
to face Clarke College. The men's club begins play in February.
