STORM LAKE , IOWA . . . Kevin McCadams has been named the head men's and women's tennis coach at Buena Vista University. He will begin his coaching duties later this month.

McCadams brings over 24 years of experience in the athletic club industry to the Buena Vista program. He has served as a tennis instructor for all age groups. McCadams is currently working as a private tennis instructor in Sioux City. Prior to moving to Iowa nearly a year ago, he served as the racquet sports coordinator at the Five Seasons Sports Country Club in Dayton, Ohio for four years.

In addition to his vast experience with private athletic clubs, McCadams has had valuable experiences in higher education. He has conducted tennis programs for students at Wright State University in Dayton and has served as an assistant tennis coach at the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana. He played collegiately at the University of Tennessee-Martin and Bethel College.

“We are excited to have McCadams join the BVU coaching staff,” said Buena Vista athletics director Jan Travis. “He brings years of experience in tennis management as well as teaching and playing skills to the program. His leadership, enthusiasm, and knowledge of the sport will greatly enhance our tennis program.”

In addition to his coaching duties, McCadams will serve as the school's director of intramurals. Buena Vista's women's tennis squad opens its season on September 2 by traveling to Dubuque to face Clarke College. The men's club begins play in February.
