CEDAR FALLS, IOWA . . . Wartburg College’s Andrea Schiltz jumped out to the first round lead of the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) women’s golf Championship, shooting a Conference Championship record-tying even-par 72 at Pheasant Ridge Golf Club on Friday. Schiltz matched her own Conference record score which she shot in the first round of the 2004 Championship.

Simpson College and defending Conference Champion Wartburg College are tied for the team lead after 18-holes at 322. Central College is two strokes back in third-place followed by Loras College (327) and Buena Vista University (332). Simpson and Wartburg’s score are the seventh-best 18-hole score in IIAC Championship history. Central’s 324 is the school’s best Conference Championship showing ever.

Central’s Sharilyne Hoekstra is two strokes behind Schiltz in the individual race followed by Buena Vista’s Jen Stork (75).
