CEDAR
RAPIDS , IOWA . . . Three Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference (IIAC) volleyball players were named to the American
Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Central Region Team
announced on Wednesday.
Central
College senior right side hitter Tessa Prati (Urbandale,
Iowa/Urbandale), Simpson College senior outside hitter Tiffany
Everding (Tripoli, Iowa/Tripoli) and Wartburg College
junior outside hitter Ashley Rogers (Dubuque,
Iowa/Wahlert) were named to the 12-member All-Central Region
Team.
Everding
was named IIAC Most Valuable Player last week and is a two-time
All-Conference performer. Prati and Rogers were named All-Conference
for the third time in their careers. The All-Region selection
is Rogers’ third AVCA regional honor. She was an All-Region
selection last year and was the AVCA Central Region Freshman
of the Year in 2004.
Central
junior setter Terri Berger (Sioux City, Iowa/Heelan),
Coe College junior setter Kristy Upah (Toledo,
Iowa/South Tama) and Simpson junior middle hitter Jessica
Martin (Toledo, Iowa/South Tama) received All-Region
honorable mention.
