12 NAMED TO D3KICKS.COM ALL-REGION TEAMS

CEDAR RAPIDS , IOWA . . . Twelve Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) soccer players, eight men and four women, were named to the d3kicks.com All-Region Teams announced on Wednesday by the web site dedicated to NCAA Division III soccer.

A quartet of Wartburg College players were named to the Regional First Team. On the men’s side, senior forward Harrison Kibombo-Lugujjo (Kampala, Uganda/RCNUWC (Norway)), senior defender Brent Schuchman (Des Moines, Iowa/Valley) and junior midfielder Luke McClyman (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) were named to the d3kicks.com All-West Region First Team. Senior midfielder Kristen Beck (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf) was named to the d3kicks.com women’s All-Central Region First Team.

Central College’s Eric Bentzinger (Urbandale, Iowa/Urbandale), a senior defender, and Cody Stoermer (Coralville, Iowa/Iowa City West), a junior forward were named to the All-West Region Second Team as was Simpson College senior midfielder Nate Ruhland (Mounds View, Minn./Irondale). Loras College senior midfielder Nick Anello (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg) and junior forward Mike Richter (Libertyville, Ill./Carmel) received Third Team honors.

Joining Beck on the women’s All-Central Region Team were Loras junior defender Lauren Schaeflein (Shorewood, Ill./Joliet Catholic) and Simpson senior forward Ashley Curran (Omaha, Neb./Millard West) who were named to the Second Team. University of Dubuque freshman forward Carissa Landolt (Machesney Park, Ill./Harlem) was a Third Team selection.

D3kicks.com was launched prior to the 2006 season with a goal of being the number one provider of Division III soccer information to players, coaches and fans. It will announce its first All-American Team on Saturday, November 25, in conjunction with its live on-line broadcast of the National Championship matches.
