CEDAR
RAPIDS , IOWA . . . Three Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference (IIAC) football players were named to the ESPN The
Magazine Academic All-America® College Division Team as
selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America
(CoSIDA) and announced today.
Central
College senior defensive Ben Bollard (Pella,
Iowa/Pella) was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America®
First Team. Wartburg College’s Kyle Duchman (Cedar
Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls), a junior wide receiver, and Nick
Noble (Riceville, Iowa/Riceville), a senior defensive
back, were Second Team selections.
Bollard
is a computer science major with a 3.77 grade point average.
Duchman is biology major with a 4.00 GPA. Noble is a political
science major with a 3.76 GPA.
To
be eligible for selection to the Academic All-America® Team,
a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic and athletic
standing, be a starter or key reserve, possess at least a 3.20
cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and have been
named to the Academic All-District First Team.
