WARTBURG’S KIBOMBO-LUGUJJO NAMED ALL-AMERICAN BY NSCAA; SEVEN NAMED NSCAA ALL-REGION

CEDAR RAPIDS , IOWA . . . Two-time Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) men’s soccer Most Valuable Player Harrison Kibombo-Lugujjo (Kampala, Uganda/RCNUWC (Norway)) of Wartburg College was named a Second Team All-America by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and was one of seven IIAC soccer players (five men and two women) named All-Region by the Coaches’ Association.

Kibombo-Lugujjo, who was previously named to the d3kicks.com All-American Team and is the Conference’s first two-time All-American, was named to the NSCAA All-West Region First Team for the second consecutive year. Teammate Brent Schuchmann (West Des Moines, Iowa/Valley), a senior defender, was also named to the NSCAA All-West Region First Team.

Loras College senior midfielder Nick Anello (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg) and Wartburg junior forward Luke McClyman (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) were named Second Team All-Region, and Loras junior forward Mike Richter (Libertyville, Ill./Carmel) was a Third Team selection.

On the women’s side, Loras junior defender Lauren Schaeflein (Shorewood, Ill./Joliet Catholic) was a Second Team All-Central Region pick and teammate Maria Prendergast (Rochester, Minn./Century), a junior forward, was a Third Team selection.
