CORNELL NAMES ANTOINE MANNING MEN'S TENNIS COACH

MOUNT VERNON, IOWA . . . Antoine Manning, who was a district doubles champion at North Miami (Fla.) High School, was named head men’s tennis coach at Cornell College, replacing Tim Preston, who resigned.

Manning graduated from North Miami in 1998, where he also played football and ran track. He played collegiate football at Joliet (Ill.) Junior College, Lambuth (Tenn.) and Western Illinois. He graduated from Wisconsin-Platteville in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education with a minor in health. Manning coached football at Kentucky Wesleyan and South Dakota State before joining the Ram football staff last season.

Cornell was 6-14 last season in men’s tennis, 4-5 in the Iowa Conference.
