Iowa Conference champion and national semifinalist Loras College earned six All-Region selections followed by Central College with three honorees and Wartburg College with two.

Four of the six Duhawks selected were named to the First Team - Brumfield, senior forward Matt Pucci (Libertyville,Ill./Libertyville), sophomore midfielder Santiago Mejia (Cali, Colombia/Colegio Bolivar), and freshman midfielder Miguel Bonilla (Cali, Colombia/Colegio Bolivar). The quartet was joined on the 11-player First Team by Central College senior forward Cody Stoermer (Coralville, Iowa/Iowa City West).

Central junior midfielder Cruz Herr (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy), Loras junior defender Matt Splittgerber (Marshalltown, Iowa/Marshalltown) and senior forward Mike Richter (Libertyville, Ill./Carmel), and Wartburg senior forward Luke McClyman (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) were named to the Second Team. Wartburg senior goalkeeper Trent Michael (Urbandale, Iowa/Urbandale) and Central freshman midfielder Cody Jandik (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Cedar Valley Christian) were named to the Third Team.

Rothert, the 2007 IIAC Coach of the Year, picked up Region Coach of the Year honors after leading the Duhawks to a 23-0-2 record, IIAC regular-season and tournament titles and a berth in NCAA Division III semifinals. The team set records for wins in a season (23), consecutive games without a loss (25 and counting), goals against (6), and shutouts (19) to name a few. The Duhawks never conceded more than one goal in a game and finished the year as the only men’s soccer team in the NCAA (all divisions) without a loss on their record in 2007.

Brumfield, the 2007 IIAC Men's Soccer MVP, was one of the centerpieces of this year's Duhawk defense. Loras held IIAC opponents to one goal in eight league games and helped the Duhawks post a shutout streak that, at one point, extended to over 1070 minutes and included 11 straight shutouts. Brumfield, who notched a pair of assists while starting all 25 games, was also honored for his academics and is an accounting major with a 3.37 grade-point average.

Pucci, Mejia, Richter, and Bonilla – all First Team All-Iowa Conference selections – were Loras' top four scorers in 2007. Pucci led the way with 35 points on 17 goals and an assist. Mejia posted five goals and a team-high 15 assists. Richter was third on the team with 21 points on eight goals and five assists followed closely by Bonilla with 20 points on eight goals and four assists. Splittgerber, another All-IIAC First Team pick, started all 25 games for the Duhawks, notching one goal on seven shots from his defender position.

McClyman and Michael were key parts of a Wartburg side that advanced to the NCAA Division III Championships for the fifth consecutive season. McClyman, a First Team All-IIAC honoree, led the Knights offensively with team-highs in points (31), goals (12), assists (7) and game-winning goals (4). Michael, an Honorable Mention All-IIAC selection, posted a 13-4-2 record in net with a 0.67 goals-against average, an .821 save percentage and four shutouts.

Stoermer, a First Team All-IIAC selection, broke Central’s career records for points (137), assists (39), shots (304), shots on goal (154), game-winning goals (10) and games started (77) while setting school season marks for goals (19), assists (12), shots (91), shots on goal (52) and points (50).
