STORM
LAKE , IOWA . . . Buena Vista Director of Athletics
Jan Travis announced on Wednesday that Heather
Noll has been hired as the next head volleyball coach
for the Beavers. Noll will begin recruiting immediately and
will be on campus on-and-off until August 1.
“I
am very excited to have Heather on board as our new head volleyball
coach,” Travis stated. “She is a young, competitive,
and determined individual who I believe is a great fit to get
the program to the next level.”
Noll
comes to BVU following a two-year stint as a graduate assistant
coach at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where the team
was the Division III National Runner-up in 2007 after placing
third in 2006. In addition to those coaching duties, she also
served as an assistant to the strength and conditioning coach
and served as the head men’s club volleyball coach from
November of 2006 until April of 2007.
“I
am very excited to join the Buena Vista University family and
lead the Beaver volleyball program,” Noll stated. “I
look forward to being a part of the building process that Jan
Travis and her administration have envisioned. I am eager to
work with a group of strong-willed female athletes who take
pride in their program.”
Prior
to arriving at UW-Whitewater, Noll played collegiate volleyball
for two seasons at Indian Hills Community College (2002 &
2003) before closing out her career at Coe College (2004 &
2005). She was named team captain for the Kohawks in 2005, while
also being named Team MVP and earning Second Team All-Iowa Conference
honors. She was a National Junior College Athletic Association
Region XI All-Academic First Team Member in 2004, while also
being named to the Iowa Conference All-Academic Team in 2005.
She holds the Kohawk record for most kills in a five game match
(25) set in 2005.
“Coach
Noll is just the right person to lead our volleyball program
into the future,” said BVU President Fred Moore.
“She was both an All-Conference and Academic All-Conference
performer at Coe, and she has been a part of the extraordinarily
successful program at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Great things are ahead for BV volleyball under her leadership.”
