WARTBURG SOFTBALL COACHING STAFF
GAINS NFCA REGIONAL COACHING HONOR

WAVERLY, IOWA . . . Wartburg College head softball coach Kara Kehe and assistant coaches Heather Zajicek and LaToshia Burrell were tabbed the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Midwest Region Coaching Staff of the Year late last week.

Wartburg reeled off its sixth straight 30-plus wins season and was ranked No. 15 on the final NFCA Division III top 25. The Knights also captured their third Iowa Conference title since 2001 and won their third straight IIAC postseason tourney title, en route to a third consecutive NCAA Division III regional tourney berth.

The honor marks the second time since 2001 that Wartburg’s softball coaching staff has been recognized by the NFCA.
