RAPIDS, IOWA . . . Twenty-six Iowa Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference (IIAC) student-athletes and six teams were
named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country
Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) 2008 Division III Women's All-Academic
Track and Field Team.
To
qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team,
the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point
average of 3.25 and have met the NCAA Division III Indoor or
Outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their
respective event. For a team to be nominated, it must carry
a minimum 3.000 cumulative grade-point average
A
total of 232 student-athletes representing 84 Division III colleges
and universities made up the 2008 All-Academic team. Wartburg
College had nine members on the list, third-most in Division
III behind UW-La Crosse (14) and University of St. Thomas (10).
There were 92 Division III women's track and field programs
recognized as 2008 USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Teams.
The Centennial Conference, the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference and the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
each had six member schools represented on the All-Academic
team list.
