CENTRAL'S RITTMAN AND DUBUQUE'S NEWQUIST
NAMED TO D3KICKS.COM TEAM OF THE WEEK

September 12, 2007

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA . . . Central College women's soccer player Tori Rittman (Ankeny, Iowa/Ankeny) and University of Dubuque men's soccer player Chad Newquist (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) have each been named to the 11-player D3kicks.com Team of the Week in their respective sports in recognition of their efforts on the pitch last week.

Rittman, a senior forward, scored the game-winning goal in a 3-2, double-overtime game against Bethel (Minn.) Saturday. The goal also made her the leading goal scorer in Central College women's soccer history at 45. Overall, Rittman tallied five goals in three games this past week as the Dutch moved to 3-1 overall. Rittman also earned Iowa Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week and Female Athlete of the Week honors for her play.

Newquist, a junior midfielder, contributed in all three of Dubuque's wins this week. He scored one goal against Concordia University Chicago and then had the game-winning assist Monmouth (Ill.) with the clock winding down. In the final game of the week, Newquist put in one goal and one assist to lift the Spartans to a 4-0 victory over previously unbeaten Illinois College. At 5-0, University of Dubuque is one of three unbeaten Iowa Conference teams, joining Wartburg (3-0) and Loras (4-0-1).
