CORNELL'S HANDKE, LORAS' BAVA, COE'S ANCIAUX
NAMED TO CoSIDA/ESPN THE MAGAZINE
ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT BASKETBALL TEAMS

CEDAR RAPIDS , IOWA . . . A trio of Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) basketball student-athletes were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII College Division Basketball Teams selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and announced on Thursday.

Cornell College center Chris Handke (Bellevue, Iowa/Bellevue) was named to the Academic All-District VII College Division Men's First Team, while Loras College guard Lindsay Bava (Downers Grove, Ill./Montini Catholic) was named to the Women's Second Team and Coe College guard Sarah Anciaux (Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City) was named to the Women's Third Team.

Handke is a junior biochemistry and molecular biology major with a 3.90 grade point average. Bava is a junior elementary education major with a 3.81 GPA. Anciaux is a sophmore biology major with a 3.82 GPA.

Academic All-District First Team members move on to the national ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® ballot. The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Basketball Teams are scheduled to be announced on Tuesday, February 24 (women) and Wednesday, February 25 (men).

To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic and athletic standing, be a starter or key reserve and possess at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).

District VII College Division includes NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA schools in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
