SIX IIAC TRACK & FIELD/CROSS COUNTRY ATHLETES
NAMED TO CoSIDA/ESPN THE MAGAZINE
ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAMS

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA . . . Six Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) athletes have been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII College Division Track & Field/Cross Country Teams selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and announced Thursday.

Luther College men's athlete David McKay (Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City) and Wartburg College women's athletes Hannah Baker (Keota, Iowa/Keota) and Kelsey Steffens (DeWitt, Iowa/Central Clinton) were named to the First Team. Central College women's athlete Rachel Boeke (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson), Cornell College women's athlete Rachelle Hawkins (Boise, Idaho/Bishop Kelly), and Wartburg College men's athlete Brian Chenoweth (Geneseo, Ill./J.D. Darnall) was named to the Second Team.

McKay is a senior political science major with a 3.94 grade point average. Baker is a junior biology major with a 3.97 GPA. Steffens is a senior elementary education major with a 3.90 GPA. Boeke is a senior exercise science/athletic training major with a 3.58 GPA. Hawkins is a senior kinesiology major with a 3.69 GPA. Chenoweth is a senior business administration major with a 3.76 GPA.

Academic All-District First Team members move on to the national CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® ballot. The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team is scheduled to be announced on Thursday, June 18 and the Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team is scheduled to be announced on Friday, June 19.

To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic and athletic standing, be a starter or key reserve and possess at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).

District VII College Division includes NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA schools in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
