TEN NAMED TO
D3FOOTBALL.COM ALL-WEST REGION TEAM

December 9, 2008

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA . . . Ten Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) football players were named to the D3football.com All-West Region Team announced by the on-line publication on Tuesday, December 9.

Loras College senior running back Alex McGrew (Van Horne, Iowa/Benton Community), Wartburg College senior wide receiver Justin Vetter (Nashua, Iowa/Nashua-Plainfield), Simpson College senior defensive tackle Luke Stover (Muscatine, Iowa/Muscatine), Luther College senior linebacker Alex Mierau (Rushford, Minn./Rushford-Peterson), Coe College junior linebacker Tate Harrison (Nevada, Iowa/Nevada), and Central College sophomore punter Kurtis Brondyke (Clinton, Iowa/Clinton) were named to the Second Team.

Simpson College senior running back Adam Reutzel (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Prairie) and junior offensive tackle Bill Carroll (Littleton, Colo./Heritage), Coe College junior linebacker Calvin Thomas (Westchester, Ill./St. Joseph's), and Buena Vista University senior cornerback Rahn Franklin Jr. (North Kansas City, Mo./North Kansas City) were Third Team selections.

The Teams, selected in balloting by West Region sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 154 nominations by Division III member schools. It is the fourth time D3football.com has chosen All-Region Teams. A total of 75 players were named to the West Region Team.
