LORAS' MEJIA AND WARTBURG'S MICHAEL
NAMED TO NSCAA/adidas® ALL-AMERICA TEAM

CEDAR RAPIDS , IOWA . . . A pair of Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) men’s soccer players were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas® All-America Team announced Friday, December 12.

Loras College junior midfielder Santiago Mejia (Cali, Colombia/Colegio Bolivar) and Wartburg College junior goalkeeper Trent Michael (Urbandale, Iowa/Urbandale) were each named to the Third Team. Mejia was a Second Team NSCAA/adidas® All-American in 2007.

Mejia, a 3-time First Team All-Iowa Conference selection, was Loras' second leading scorer with 27 points on five goals and a league-high 17 assists. He led the Duhawks to the semifinal round of the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championships for the second consecutive season.

Michael, a First Team All-Conference selection, posted a 14-7-0 record in net with a 0.73 goals-against average, an .860 save percentage, and eight shutouts. He posted back-to-back shutouts in the Iowa Conference Tournament to lead the No. 3-seed Knights to the tournament title and a berth in the NCAA Championships.
