LORAS' SANTIAGO MEJIA NAMED TO
NSCAA/adidas® SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICA TEAM
SIX NAMED TO NSCAA/adidas® SCHOLAR ALL-REGION TEAMS

CEDAR RAPIDS , IOWA . . . A total of six Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) soccer players were named to Scholar All-Region Teams by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), led by Loras junior midfielder Santiago Mejia (Cali, Colombia/Colegio Bolivar), who was also named to the 2008 NSCAA/adidas® Men's Scholar All-America College Division First Team.

Mejia, an electromechanical engineering major with a 3.25 grade-point average, was named to the NSCAA/adidas® Scholar All-North/Central Region First Team, while teammates Nate Minkel (Marshalltown, Iowa/Marshalltown) and Nick Rizzo (Wheaton, Ill./St. Francis) were tabbed as NSCAA/adidas® Scholar All-North/Central Region Honorable Mention selections. Minkel, a defender, is a junior accounting major with a 3.94 GPA. Rizzo, a midfielder, is a junior mathematics and education major with a 3.57 GPA.

Loras also had three women honored as senior goalkeeper Torey Murray (Des Moines, Iowa/Lincoln) and junior forward Holly Wilson (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee) were named to the NSCAA/adidas® Scholar All-Central Region Second Team and senior defender Jenna Kosek (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) was an honorable mention selection. Murray is a pre-medicine major with a 3.90 GPA, Wilson is a politics major with a 3.75 GPA, and Kosek is an athletic training major with a 3.62 GPA.
