FOUR IIAC ATHLETES NAMED TO
CoSIDA/ESPN THE MAGAZINE
ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA® TEAMS

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA . . . Four Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) women's track & field athletes were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® College Division Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams released today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Wartburg senior Hannah Baker (Keota, Iowa/Keota) and Simpson senior Lauren Bucklin (Bondurant, Iowa/Bondurant-Farrar) were named to the First Team, Central junior Jill Ziskovsky (Dallas Center, Iowa/Dallas Center-Grimes) was tabbed for the Second Team, and Wartburg senior Jenny Kordick (Truro, Iowa/Interstate 35) was picked for the Third Team.

Hannah Baker, Wartburg

A Biology major with a 3.98 G.P.A., Baker (right) accumulated 14 All-American Indoor and Outdoor honors during her career. Last month, she ran for Wartburg’s 4x400 national championship team at the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship Meet. A member of five national champion 4x400 relay teams in her career, she contributed to the Knights’ national championship indoor teams in 2009 and 2010 as well as their outdoor championship team in 2009. The Keota, Iowa, native has been accepted to UW-Madison graduate school for genetics counseling studies and is an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipient. Baker, a repeat selection for the First Team, was also a Third Team pick in 2008.

Lauren Bucklin, SimpsonA Psychology major with a 3.84 G.P.A., Bucklin (left) was an eight-time All-American at Simpson (Iowa). She placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles and eighth in the 400-meter hurdles at the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship Meet. She holds the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference meet and school records in the 55-hurdles, 100-hurdles and the 400-hurdles. She is also a member of the school record 4x200 indoor relay team. Named as the Most Valuable Performer at the 2009 IIAC Outdoor Championship Meet, she was a three-time Academic All-Conference selection. A native of Bondurant, Iowa, Bucklin is a member of the Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Ziskovsky, a communication studies and Spanish double major with a 3.95 GPA, earned all-America distinction for the third time, placing fifth in the heptathlon at the recent NCAA Division III outdoor championships. She also placed fifth in the pentathlon at the NCAA Division III indoor championships March 13-14 in Greencastle, Ind. and placed in the indoor 4x400-meter relay in 2008. She is a three-time NCAA outdoor qualifier in the heptathlon and also competed at last week’s national meet in the 4x400-meter relay. Ziskovsky is a two-time team MVP (2009, 2010) and is a 12-time Iowa Conference indoor meet placewinner and a 13-time outdoor meet placewinner.

Kordick, a biology major with a 3.76 GPA, earned a combined total of 10 All-America honors in indoor and outdoor track & field during her career, including a combined five national titles in relays. She helped lead the Knights to the 2010 Iowa Conference indoor and outdoor crowns as well as the 2010 NCAA indoor title. The combined nine-time Iowa Conference champion was also twice named to the IIAC's All-Academic Team and three times named a USTFCCCA Scholar All-American.
