DUBUQUE, IOWA . . . The University of Dubuque football student-athlete Michael Zweifel (Jr., WR, Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) swept the IIAC, being named Male Athlete of the Week and today earned another honor this week. He was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week. He was selected to the team from more than 70 players nominated across the nation during week seven.
The D3football.com Team of the Week is the D3football.com's weekly honor roll, spotlighting a player at each starting position from the past week, including special teams. It has been awarded since 1999.
In the current NCAA Division III statistics, Zweifel continues to lead all receivers in receptions per game (#1 in nation) with 11.14 a game. He ranks #6 in receiving yards per game with 137.57 and is tied at #29 in scoring with 10.29 points a game. UD ranks 48th in total offense a game with an average of 407.71 yards a contest and 32nd in passing offense (273.57 yards a game) and 32nd in passing efficiency (147.46). UD ranks #1 in the IIAC in both passing offense and passing efficiency and ranks second in total offense in 2009.
