CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA . . . Luther College junior linebacker Kyle McGivney (Apple River, Ill./Warren) has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week presented by Scoutware for Week 11 of the 2009 football season.

The D3football.com Team of the Week is the D3football.com's weekly honor roll, spotlighting a player at each starting position from the past week, including special teams. It has been awarded since 1999.

McGivney, a junior linebacker, tallied a game-high 14 tackles (8 solo), blocked two punts and broke up the final pass of the game to secure Luther’s 20-17 victory over Loras. His second blocked punt was scooped up by teammate Bruce Clark and returned 12 yards for a touchdown.

It is the second time this season that McGivney has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week (Nov. 3).
