Mar. 2
Katelyn Whiton, Simpson College, Panora, Iowa/Perry
Whiton, a senior forward, averaged 24.5 points and 5.5 rebounds as the Storm won two games during the week to capture their fourth IIAC Tournament title and the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. She scored 25 points on 12-of-17 shooting in a 93-67 IIAC semifinal win over Dubuque and added 24 in Simpson’s 94-80 over Coe Saturday. Whiton shot 64.5 percent (20-31) from the field on the week and made nine of 10 free throws.
Feb. 24
Natalie Pucci, Loras College, West Dundee, Ill./Jacobs
Pucci, a senior guard, scored 30 points in a 98-94 overtime win at Buena Vista to clinch a home IIAC Tournament quarterfinal game. She shot 12-of-21 from the 3-point line as the Duhawks went 2-0 on the week.
Feb. 17
Lindsay Bava, Loras College, Downers Grove, Ill./Montini Catholic
Bava, a sophomore guard, scored a career-high 29 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the field in the Duhawks’ 68-63 win over Luther. She also made seven of eight free throws. Bava is currently shooting 49% from the field in IIAC games and also ranks in the top five in both free throw shooting and 3-point shooting.
Feb. 10
Amber Karkosh, Coe College, Toledo, Iowa/South Tama
Karkosh, a senior forward, moved into second place on the school’s career scoring list with 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting in a 66-61 win over Loras Feb. 7. Karkosh also posted eight points and 10 rebounds in a 76-58 win at Dubuque Feb. 9, helping Coe tie the school record for wins in a season. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
Feb. 3
Ashley TeKippe, Luther College, Decorah, Iowa/Decorah
TeKippe, a senior post player, averaged 21.5 points and 10.5 rebounds while posting a pair of doubles-doubles as Luther picked up key road victories over Buena Vista (79-73) and Cornell (64-58). TeKippe, who shot 16-of-25 (64.0%) from the field on the week, tallied 23 points and 10 rebounds against Buena Vista and 20 points and 11 rebounds at Cornell. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
Jan. 27
Katelyn Whiton, Simpson College, Panora, Iowa/Perry
Whiton, a senior forward, averaged 19.3 points and 6.3 rebounds while shooting 65.0 percent from the field as the Storm picked up a trio of league wins. In an 81-66 win at Loras Saturday, Whiton broke the Simpson record for career field goal attempts (1,129). Her 27 points in the same game were the most scored by a Storm player since Whiton scored 33 against California Lutheran Dec. 28, 2004. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)

Tiffany Cowan, Cornell College, Independence, Mo./Truman
Cowan, a junior forward, posted 24 points on 10-of-19 shooting with 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season in a 74-71 Cornell overtime win over Wartburg on Jan. 16. The win ended a 16-game losing streak to the Knights dating back to the 1999-2000 season. Cowan also added 18 points and seven rebounds in a 70-63 loss at Buena Vista on Jan. 19. Jan. 13
Margo Muhlbauer, Buena Vista University, Manilla, Iowa/IKM
Muhlbauer, a sophomore guard, helped lead the Beavers to a 2-0 record during the week, including the squad’s first two league wins of the season. She posted 18 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals in a 77-68 triumph over Wartburg on Jan. 9. Muhlbauer closed out the week in commanding fashion, scoring 24 points (20 in the first half), on 11-of-15 shooting from the field, as BVU scored 65 first-half points, while handling Central its worst loss in series history, 109-72. Elizabeth Campbell, Wartburg College, Rockford, Iowa/Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock
Campbell, a senior guard, registered the third-highest single-game scoring effort of her career with 25 points in a 78-69 win over previously-unbeaten Loras College. Campbell hit 8 of 13 shots from the field, including five of nine from three-point range. She also registered three assists and team-highs with seven rebounds and two blocks, continuing her streak of blocking at least one shot in six consecutive games. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
Dec. 31
Sharese Van Sloten, Wartburg College, Decorah, Iowa/Decorah
Van Sloten, a junior forward/center, was tabbed Most Valuable Player of the inaugural Wartburg Holiday Tournament Dec. 29-30. Van Sloten averaged less than two rebounds shy of a double-double as the Knights posted a 3-1 record over the extended break. She harbors current strings of three straight games of shooting 57 percent or better from the field and four consecutive five-plus rebound outings. With 23 rebounds in two games at the Wartburg Holiday Tournament, Van Sloten improved her rebounding average by 1.3 rebounds per game (5.1 to 6.4). (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
Dec. 16
Amber Karkosh, Coe College, Toledo, Iowa/South Tama
Karkosh, a senior forward, recorded her third straight game of double-figure scoring with 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting against Grinnell. She also pulled down 10 rebounds and had three assists as the Kohawks equaled their win total for all of last season with their eighth win of the season. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
Dec. 9
Natalie Pucci, Loras College, West Dundee, Ill./Jacobs
Pucci, a senior guard, averaged 26.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists last week as the Duhawks improved to 8-0 overall and 2-0 in the IIAC with wins over crosstown rival University of Dubuque (79-74) and Beloit (61-55). Pucci hit 10 of 17 shots from the field (58.8 percent) and all six free throws for a game-high 28 points against the Spartans. She added 24 points in the Beloit game on 9-of-21 shooting, including 4-of-12 from three-point range.

Dec. 2
Whitney Franker, Simpson College, Urbandale, Iowa/Urbandale
Franker, a junior forward, averaged 16 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists as the Storm posted a 1-1 record. Franker scored 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting (4-of-9 from three-point range) to lead Simpson to a 71-44 win over Wartburg to open the IIAC schedule. She added 14 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists in the Storm’s 93-90 loss at Division II St. Cloud State on Dec. 1. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
Nov. 25
Margo Muhlbauer, Buena Vista University, Manilla, Iowa/IKM
Muhlbauer, a sophomore guard, averaged 27.0 points over three games this week, including a career-high 33 in a Nov. 20 loss to Waldorf. She turned in 26 points and five assists in an 82-64 win over Presentation (S.D.) Nov. 23 and added 22 points and five rebounds in an 84-73 win over Nebraska Wesleyan the next night to collect MVP honors at the 2007 BVU Classic sponsored by State Farm. In three games, Muhlbauer shot 30-of-47 (63.8%) from the field and 19-of-26 (73.1%) from the charity stripe. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
Nov. 18
Natalie Pucci, Loras College, West Dundee, Ill./Jacobs
Pucci, a senior guard, was named Most Valuable Player of the Damon’s Grill Tip-Off Classic hosted by Rockford College after averaging 20.5 points and 3.0 rebounds in two games. After posting 17 points in the season-opener against Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Pucci scored 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting in the championship game against host Rockford. On the weekend, Pucci drained nine of 16 three-point attempts. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
