Oct. 30
Jen Wendt, Simpson College, Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley
Wendt, a senior, became the first Simpson runner since Sarah Cross in 1990 to win the Iowa Conference Championship. She finished the 6,000-meter race in 22:28 to win by four seconds and was named Conference Most Valuable Runner.

Jen Wendt, Simpson, Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley
Wendt, a senior, won her third race of the year as she posted a 12-second victory at Loras College’s Dr. Robert Tucker Invitational. She finished the 64-runner race in 23:16.40.
Oct. 9
Jill Wagaman, Wartburg, Dysart, Iowa/Union (LaPorte City)
Wagaman, a junior, won the Dan Huston 4,000-meter race in 14:56, besting the rest of the 151-runner field by three seconds.
Oct. 2
Jen Wendt, Simpson, Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley
Wendt, a senior, won the Simpson Buxton Open in a time of 20:54. She finished seven seconds ahead of the second-place finisher in the 19-runner race and led the Storm to the team title.
Sept. 25
Jen Wendt, Simpson, Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley
Wendt, a senior, placed seventh (of 334 runners) at the Augustana (Ill.) College’s Brissman-Lundeen Invitational breaking her own 6,000-meter school record with a time of 21:54. She finished 1:35 behind the winner and led Simpson to a 14th-place finish in the 27-team race.
Sept. 18
Jen Wendt, Simpson, Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley
Wendt, a senior, finished fifth (of 264 runners) at the UMASS-Dartmouth Invitational in a time of 18:49, finishing 23 seconds behind the race’s winner. Her time is the ninth fastest 5,000-meter time in school history.

Sept. 11
Nicole Calabrese, Wartburg, Spring Valley, Minn./Kingsland
Calabrese, a freshman, finished third of 116-runners at the St. John’s (Minn.) Invitational in a time of 23:28 to lead the Knights to the team title at the eight team meet. Calabrese finished 1:21 behind the race’s winner, Leah Wurm of St. Benedict’s, a 2004 national qualifier.
Sept. 4
Paige Gruis, Buena Vista, Des Moines, Iowa/Lincoln
Gruis, a sophomore, won the 40-runner Dordt Invitational in a school 4K record time of 15:52.9, winning by 5.1 seconds. She broke the old school mark of 16:07 set last year by Kim Peterson.
