Sarah Paulson, Central College, Ottumwa, Iowa/Ottumwa
Paulson, a freshman, captured medalist honors at the 2008 IIAC Women’s Golf Championship with a total of 76-71-81-78—306, tying the tournament’s 72-hole individual scoring record en route to an 8-stroke victory. She posted a 149 (81-78) total during the tournament’s second weekend, second-best among the 45 golfers in the field, and carded the low round in the final round with a 78. Paulson, who led the Dutch to a tie for second place, also broke Central’s 72-hole scoring record (306) and season stroke average record (79.1). (IIAC Women’s Athlete of the Week)

Paulson, a freshman, holds the 36-hole lead in the medalist race heading into the final weekend of the 2008 Iowa Conference Women’s Golf Championship. She leads the field by nine strokes after posting a 36-hole total of 147. She broke the Championship 18-hole scoring mark with a 71 in round two and tied the lowest midway score since the Championship expanded to 72 holes in 2003.

Paulson, a freshman, placed sixth of 120 golfers at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic. She completed the 36-hole event with a score of 79-74—153, 7 strokes behind the medalist, breaking the school’s 36-hole scoring record of 155 set by Cindy Kline in winning the Iowa Conference Tournament at Indianola in 1987.

Nicole Wenstrand, Central College, Essex, Iowa/Shenandoah
Wenstrand, a sophomore, captured medalist honors at the Central Fall Invitational by firing an 85 to best the field by a stroke. She led the Dutch to the team title at the event with a 359 total.

Sarah Paulson, Central College, Ottumwa, Iowa/Ottumwa
Paulson, a freshman, tied for second place in a field of 101 golfers at the Wartburg Fall Invitational. She fired rounds of 77 and 79 for a 156 total to place two shots behind medalist Laura Heck of St. Thomas (Minn.). Playing in just her second collegiate meet, Paulson was the top IIAC finisher at the meet, leading Central to an 11th-place finish (347-347—694).

Steph Burns, Wartburg College, Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls
Burns, a junior, picked up the second fall individual medalist effort of her career with her one-stroke victory at the UW-Eau Claire Fall Invitational. She shot 79-78—157 to lead the 140-golfer field. Her second round score of 78 was the lowest posted on the par-73 Wild Ridge course. She helped lead No. 12 Wartburg (647) to a runner-up team finish behind No. 3 Gustavus Adolphus College (646) in a strong regional and national field that included five teams that placed in the top-13 at the 2008 NCAA Championships (Gustavus Adolphus – 6th, St. Thomas – 7th, Wartburg – 10th, UW-Stevens Point – 12th, UW-Eau Claire – 13th). She was also one of two golfers in the field (UW-Whitewater’s Chelsea Davis) to post two sub-80 scores. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
