May 15 Missy Buttry, Wartburg, Sr.
Successfully defended her Conference titles in the 800-meters (2:15.68), 1,500-meters (4:32.37), and 5,000-meters (16:17.31), earning IIAC women’s outdoor track and field Most Valuable Performer. Automatically qualified for the NCAA Championship and set stadium records in the 1,500 and 5,000, and provisionally qualified in the 800. Won all three events every year of her collegiate career.
May 8 Jasmine Jones-Green, Coe, Fr.
Won the Iowa Conference heptathlon with an NCAA provisional qualifying and school record score of 4520 points. Recorded the top mark in five of the seven events, had the second-best mark in one event, fifth-best mark in one event and 13th in the final event. Her 200-meter dash (25.58 seconds), 800-meter run (2:24.64), 100-meter hurdles (15.21 second) and long jump (5.38 meters) performances were tops among the 13 competitors. Was second in the shot put (9.87 meters) and tied for fifth in the high jump (1.49 meters). Threw the javelin 21.37 meters.
May 1 Bridget Burns, Wartburg, So.
Member of three relay teams for the Knights at the Drake Relays including two that provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships. Ran the anchor leg for the 4x400 relay team that provisionally qualified for the NCAAs with a finish of 3:54.54 and ran the second leg for the 4x100 relay team that provisionally qualified with a time of 48.89. Also ran the second leg for the sprint medley relay team that was the highest-finishing Division III school with a school record time of 4:02.32.
April 24 Missy Buttry, Wartburg, Sr.
Provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship in the 5000-meters and 1500-meters with her performances in those events at the Kansas Relays. Won the 5000-meters by nearly 11 seconds in a time of 17:03.68. Second place finish in the 1500-meters in a time of 4:34.55 was just 55/100ths of a second shy of the automatic qualifying time.
April 17 Jasmine Jones-Green, Coe, Fr.
Won the 100-meter hurdles at the Norse Relays with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 14.81 seconds. Also a member of the fourth-place 4x100 relay and sprint medley relay teams, and the fifth-place 4x40 relay team. Ran a 12.15 second split in the 4x100 relay (team ran 50.87 seconds), a 58.02 second split in the sprint medley relay (team ran 4:17.98) and a 59.07 second split in the 4x400 relay (team ran 4:09.82).
April 10 Lynn Schneider, Cornell, Sr.
Won three events, finished fourth in another, set three school records and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in two events with her performance at the Cornell Relays. Won the shot put with an NCAA PQ and school record throw of 45-7, currently the third best distance in the nation. Won the hammer throw with an NCAA PQ and school record throw of 151-11, currently 10th in the nation. Won the javelin with a school record throw of 125-1.5 and finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 118-8.
April 3 Ellyn Thys, Loras, Fr.
Provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in two events and recorded four top-six finishes at the Central Invitational. Won and provisionally qualified in the javelin (133-3.5) and discus (141-11.75). Won the discus by over six feet and the javelin by over three feet. Also finished fourth in the shot put (38-11.5) and sixth in the hammer throw (131-2).
March 27 Caroline Capper, Simpson, So.
Three top-three finishes at the Wartburg Midweek Open. She won the javelin with a throw of 125-1, finished second in the hammer throw with a throw of 144-3, and third in the shot put with a throw of 35-4.
March 20 Caroline Capper, Simpson, So.
Three top-10 finishes at the Florida State Relays. Finished third in the Garnet hammer with a school record throw of 148-2, breaking the old school mark by nearly 12 feet. Also placed second in the Garnet javelin (117-11) and placed eighth in the Garnet shot put (38-2.75).
