Erion, Loras College, Decorah, Iowa/Decorah Erion, a junior, was named Most Valuable Performer of the Iowa Conference Championship after placing in the top-five of six events including two NCAA provisional qualifying marks. She PQ’ed in the triple jump with a winning mark of 11.57 meters and the heptathlon with a fourth-place finish of 4,164 points. She also won the long jump (5.21 meters) and finished third in the 400-meter hurdles (1:04.56). Erion was a member of the runner-up 4x400 relay team (4:00.76) and the third-place 4x100 relay team (49.36 seconds). (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week) |

Wilkerson, Central College, North English, Iowa/English Valleys Wilkerson, a senior, won the Iowa Conference heptathlon with an NCAA provisional qualifying score and career-best 4,543 points, just 17 points shy of an NCAA automatic qualifying score. It is her third straight All-Conference performance in the heptathlon having placed third in 2004 and second in 2005. Wilkerson posted one of the top-three marks in six of the seven events and a top-five mark in all seven events among the 13 competitors. Her 10.01 meters in the shot put was the top mark and her 1.57 meters in the high matched the top mark. She posted the second-best mark in the long jump (5.2 meters) and javelin (34.95 meters); the third-best mark in the 800-meters (2:25.20) and the 100-hurdles (15.9 seconds); and the fifth-best mark in the 200-meters (27.2 seconds). Steffens, Wartburg College, DeWitt, Iowa/Central Steffens, a freshman, was a member of four top-seven finishing relay teams at the Drake Relays including one that provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships. She was a member of the 4x100 relay team that ran a PQ time of 48.11 in the prelims then ran 48.83 in the finals to finish seventh. She led the 4x200 (1:42.79) and sprint medley (4:01.57) relay teams to fourth-place finishes, and the shuttle hurdles relay team to a sixth-place finish (64.16). Steffens also finished eighth (tops among Division III competitors) in the 400-meter hurdles at Simpson’s Kip Janvrin Open (66.34). |

Capper, Simpson College, Washington, Iowa/Washington Capper, a senior, automatically qualified for the NCAA Championship in hammer throw at Grinnell’s Dick Young Classic with a winning throw of 173-2. It is currently tied for the fourth-best throw in the nation. She also won the shot (44-0) and placed fourth in the javelin (126-0). (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week) |

Capper, Simpson College, Washington, Iowa/Washington Capper, a senior, had five top-three finishes, including three individual titles in two meets during the week. She won the hammer at the Loras Midweek Invitational (172-5) and the Cornell Relays (171-11), and won the shot put at Cornell (42-0). She provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the shot put with a third-place finish at Loras (42-4.75), the third event in which she has PQ’ed this spring (hammer and javelin). Capper finished second in the javelin (109-2) at Cornell, eighth in the javelin (106-0) and 11th in the discus (115-11) at Loras. |

Wilkerson, Central College, North English, Iowa/English Valley Wilkerson, a senior, won the heptathlon at the Wartburg Select with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark, meet record and personal best score of 4480 points. She had one of the top-two marks in five of the seven events including the best mark in the long jump (16-8). She had the second-best mark in the javelin (122-6), high jump (5-0.25), 100-hurdles (16.02), and 800-meters (2:29.20). Her marks in the shot put (31-11.5) and in the 200-meters (27.13) were third and fourth, respectively in the 12 participant field. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week) |

Capper, Simpson College, Washington, Iowa/Washington Capper, a senior, registered three top-3 finishes and one NCAA provisional qualifying mark at the Coe Kohawk Open. She won and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the weight throw with a school-record throw of 50.84 meters. She also placed second in the shot put (12.13 meters) and third in the javelin (34.64 meters). |

Capper, Simpson College, Washington, Iowa/Washington Capper, a senior, won two events and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in another at the Wartburg Open. She won the shot put (42-0.75) and the javelin (131-10), and placed second in the weight throw with a provisional qualifying throw of 155-11. |
