May 8 | Ashley Rogers, Wartburg, Fr., 1B | Hit .833 (10-for-12) with three doubles, a home run,
five RBI and five runs scored in four games during the week. Went 3-for-4
with a double, home run, three RBI and two runs scored in a 6-0 victory
over Wisconsin-LaCrosse. In the nightcap vs. LaCrosse, an 8-1 victory,
went 2-for-2 and scored one run. Went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the twin-bill
opener against Dubuque (7-1 win), and finished the season with a 3-for-3,
two doubles, two runs scored, one RBI performance in the second game
against Dubuque (13-4 victory). |
May 1 | Kelly Harris, Central, Fr., C | Hit .700 (14-of-20) with two triples, five
RBI, seven runs scored and five stolen bases in six games during the week.
Defensively, threw out 7-of-10 would be base stealers and picked off four
base runners. Went 5-for-7 in two Conference doubleheader sweeps against
Buena Vista and Cornell including matching 3-for-4 performance in the
two game ones and 2-for-3 performances in both game twos. Had two triples,
an RBI and a run scored in the opener against BV; two RBI and a run in
the opener against Cornell; and an RBI and run scored in the nightcap
against Cornell. In the first game of a doubleheader sweep of Bethel (Minn.),
went 4-for-4 with four runs scored and three stolen bases. |
April 24 | Beth Rohlena, Coe, Sr., OF | Hit .769 (10-for-13) with three doubles,
three home runs, 10 RBI and five runs scored in four games during the
week. Had four multi-hit games including two three-hit performances as
Coe swept Luther and Loras. In the final three games of the week, had
a home run and three RBI in each game. All three hits in game two of the
Luther doubleheader (an 11-6 win) went for extra bases including two doubles
and a home run to go along with two runs scored. Also scored twice while
going 3-for-3 in the second game of the Loras doubleheader (an 8-0 win). |
April 17 | Amy Ernst, Coe, Sr., P | Went 3-0 with two saves and a 0.00 ERA during
the week, allowing just 12 hits and striking out 41 batters in 26 innings.
She extended her scoreless innings streak to 43 straight and tied the
school record with 57 career victories. Recorded a victory and save in
a doubleheader sweep of Wartburg. In seven innings of the opener, she
allowed four hits and struck out 10 en route to a 7-0 win. Pitched two
innings of on-hit relief and struck out three in notching the save in
the 5-1 win. She pitched a pair of complete games at the Illinois Wesleyan
Tournament, picking up victories in a 3-0 win over Fontbonne and a 5-0
win over Maryville (Mo.). Allowed three hits in both contests, striking
out 11 vs. Fontbonne and 14 vs. Maryville. Also recorded the save in a
4-2 win over Illinois Wesleyan, striking out three and surrendering just
one hit in three innings. |
April 10 | Corrie Schmidt, Central, Sr., P | Went 2-0 during the week with 11 strikeouts and did
not allow a run in 14 innings. Threw her second career no-hitter and struck
out six in Central’s 9-0 victory over Dubuque. In a 2-0 win over Loras,
surrendered just four hits and struck out five batters. |
April 3 | Ashley Wagner, Coe, Jr., OF | Hit .368 (7-for-19) with a double, two home runs,
five RBI and seven runs scored in six games. Went 2-for-4 with two RBI
and two runs scored in an 8-1 victory over Augustana (Ill.) and 2-for-3
with two runs scored in an 8-1 win over Clarke. Also had two RBI in a
7-5 win over Central and scored two runs in a 10-1 win over Clarke. |
March 27 | Brandi Sykora, Buena Vista, Fr., P/Uti. | Posted a 4-1 record with a 1.91 ERA in five
games on the mound, and hit .538 (14-for-26) with seven runs scored, five
RBI and three doubles in eight games. She was the winning pitcher in four
of the five games during the Beavers’ first five-game winning streak since
2001. She struck out 20 batters, and surrendered just eight earned runs
and five walks in 29.1 innings. Sykora recorded complete game victories
over Hamline (5-2), Colorado School of Mines (5-4) and North Central (3-2)
while picking up a victory in relief over Hamline (16-7). Offensively,
she had five multi-hit games including two 3-for-4 performances against
Colorado College and a pair of two-hit games against Hamline. |
| March 20 | Amy Ernst, Coe, Sr., P | Posted a 9-0 record with 1 save through
12 games this season as the Kohawks are off to their best start in school
history). In 10 games (7 starts), has pitched 47 innings, allowed just
13 hits and no runs, and struck out 72 batters while walking just seven.
Recorded three victories over ranked opponents - #4 Muskingum (2-0),
#11 Cortland State (2-1 in relief) and #20 Methodist (8-0). Pitched
three or more innings in nine of 10 appearances and allowed more than
two hits just twice (3 vs. Baldwin-Wallace in 5 innings and 4 vs. Muskingum
in 7 innings). |
