Hannah Jensen, Coe College, Iowa City, Iowa/West
Jensen, a sophomore, took top honors in Flight A Singles and teamed with Katy Delagardelle for first place in Flight A Doubles at the 2008 Iowa Conference Women’s Tennis Individual Championships. She went 4-0 in each bracket and did not drop a set in singles. This is the second consecutive year that Coe has swept the Flight A titles at the IIAC Tournament. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)

Hilary Baehr, Central College, Des Moines, Iowa/Roosevelt
Baehr, a senior, posted a 5-1 record overall during the week, including a perfect 3-0 record at No. 1 singles. She also teamed with Stephanie Gibbons for a 2-1 mark at No. 2 doubles.

Pavla Brachova, Cornell College, Ames, Iowa/Ames
Brachova, a senior, improved her season records to 12-1 at No. 1 singles and 13-0 at No. 1 doubles with an undefeated week. She has won 16 consecutive doubles matches and now sits in third place on Cornell’s career list for doubles wins with 72.

Molly Fiala, Coe College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson & Andrea Schupbach, Coe College, Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus
Fiala, a senior, and Schupbach, a junior, teamed to win the ITA Midwest Regional Doubles Tournament defeating the top-seeded team of Megan Gaard and Samantha Frank from Gustavus Adolphus 8-4 in the final. With the win, the pair has advanced to the ITA National Small College Championships Oct. 16-19 at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center in Mobile, Alabama. Fiala and Schupbach survived their semifinal match with a 9-8 (6) win over Carleton’s Erin Gudul and Kathryn Schmidt. (IIAC Female Athletes of the Week)

Alana Humpal, Luther College, Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain
Humpal, a senior, helped lead Luther to a record of 4-0 this week by posting a 7-1 record. She was 3-1 at No. 1 singles and paired with Katie Nichols for four wins at No. 1 doubles.

Pavla Brachova, Cornell College, Ames, Iowa/Ames
Brachova, a senior, finished the week 6-0 (3-0 at No. 1 singles and 3-0 at No. 1 doubles), highlighted with a 6-4, 6-1 singles victory over Coe’s 29th-ranked Molly Fiala. In their only meeting last year, Brachova fell to Fiala in straight sets (0-6, 0-6). Brachova also teamed with Kirsten Lasley for a 9-7 doubles win over Coe’s 21st-ranked Fiala and Andrea Schupbach. Brachova is a combined 10-0 this season. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)

Molly Fiala, Coe College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson
Fiala, a senior, posted a 4-0 record during the week with two league victories each at No. 1 singles and no. 1 doubles. In singles play, she posted straight-set wins over Simpson’s Jackie Suckow (6-0, 6-0) and Central’s Hilary Baehr (6-0, 6-2). Fiala teamed with Andrea Schupbach to post an 8-0 win over Simpson’s No. 1 doubles team and an 8-4 win over Central’s No. 1 doubles team.
